The Zoo is great! It is a bit a pain to drive there but worth at least one really good visit ,it’s not as big as I thought it would be but the hills make you feel like you did enough walking around if your trying to get some steps in ,when we were there ,it was so hot a fair amount of animals weren’t having it and just stayed out of sight. They have some really good exhibits and I highly recommend the Penguins! The prairie dogs were a pleasant surprise and it’s a really good Zoo I’d say similar to the DC Zoo but add Penguins..

Truly the most magical day for all ages. I’m 22 and went with my mom for the otter experience, and we literally had SO much fun. I genuinely cannot recommend it enough. You can tell how loved and well cared for all the animals are, and every single staff member was so kind and welcoming. Such a special place. 💕🦦

The Maryland Zoo was a fantastic experience and a great alternative to the DC Zoo. The grounds were clean, well-maintained, and easy to navigate, making it a very walkable destination for families and visitors of all ages. One of the highlights was how active and visible the animals were throughout our visit, allowing for excellent viewing opportunities at nearly every exhibit. The zoo was also noticeably less crowded than the DC Zoo, creating a more relaxed atmosphere and making it easier to enjoy the exhibits without long waits or large crowds. Overall, it was an enjoyable and stress free visit, and we would definitely recommend it to others looking for a fun day outdoors with wildlife.

Lovely zoo! Penguin breakfast was fantastic and the staff knows exactly what they are doing, great array of animals and the food is very reasonably priced. I would certainly return back here with friends and family! Exceptional zoo for kids.

Was a really nice experience! The big family crowds left around 1:30 PM on Friday and basically we had a pretty peaceful walkthrough and saw most of the animals! Only a few exhibits were temporarily closed, like the bats. I think the animals hid less when the crowds aren't heavy, like the prairie dogs.
