We stayed here on a bit of a whim to use some credit card benefits. We were impressed by the whole experience - the staff and the valet service were superb. The location was excellent - it was easy to catch the free shuttle (be forewarned, no air conditioning on that) up to the aquarium to visit the bluffs and the aquarium itself, and even to walk to the north shore. We were also able to walk to several excellent restaurants without dying in the heat - a major plus. The valets’ attentiveness and care for our electric car allowed easy drives to both Ruby Falls and Rock City on separate days without any inconvenience. We ate at Bridgeman’s for dinner on the first of our two nights, and everything was beautifully prepared with impeccable service and fantastic quality. I think it was a great bucket item experience, albeit extremely expensive once you order anything other than the main course. Still, a net positive experience. The convenience of having direct access to the Starbucks was also a great benefit. I didn’t try the in-room Royal Cup coffee, but to be honest, Starbucks is the way to go for convenience and consistency. Overall, we felt this was a great experience and would cheerfully stay here again.

Such a beautiful hotel with an interesting history. The service was nothing short of excellent from check-in to check-out. This hotel is polished and timeless giving historical vibes preserved with upscale classy touches. The rooms in the old tower have a tastefull decorum, and many overlook the ballroom balcony and courtyard. The downtown location is excellent with the Walnut Street bridge within a short walking distance.

Incredibly beautiful lobby and lounge. Just stunning! Staff is friendly and helpful, especially the greeter at the door when we checked in. We stayed in the "Manor" section and had a nice evening snack and drink in the lounge. Comfortable room with ample bathroom counter space and big, tiled shower. Up and coming neighborhood with restaurants in waking distance. Very nice stay!

My best friend was married at the historic The Read House and overall it was a beautiful and memorable experience. The ceremony took place in the courtyard, which provided a stunning backdrop for the wedding. Guests then enjoyed cocktail hour overlooking the courtyard from the staircase and upper level before moving into the Grand Ballroom for the reception. Every space was elegant, well maintained, and created a wonderful atmosphere for the celebration. The banquet and event staff on the wedding day were fantastic. They were professional, attentive, organized, and helped ensure everything ran smoothly for the couple, their families, and guests. The hotel itself continues to be one of our favorite places to stay, and we frequently return for weekend getaways and family plus girls' trips. It is a property that we confidently recommend to friends and family visiting Chattanooga. The only area where there was some disappointment involved the planning process. The original wedding planner who worked with the couple for much of the planning journey transitioned to a corporate role a few months before the wedding. Unfortunately, some items that had been discussed in person were not documented or communicated clearly during the early planning stages. This led to confusion regarding certain accommodations and expectations, which was understandably frustrating for the couple. That said, the hotel team worked hard to deliver a beautiful wedding experience, and the third party wedding planner worked so smoothly with their team. Despite the planning challenges, the couple had an incredible day, guests had a wonderful time, and the venue remains one of the most beautiful and iconic places to stay and celebrate in Chattanooga. Thank you to The Read House valet, bellman, front desk, housekeeping, banquet team, bartenders, and kitchen staff for helping create such a memorable wedding weekend!

Absolutely stunning and amazing hotel. The lobby was lush with art and statues and lots of places to sit if needed. The front desk was helpful with parking and getting around the hotel. The bar was great. Very friendly and knowledgable. I love the elevator perk of scanning your card to get to your room. Room was very nice, I did not expect what we got for what we paid. Only downside was our TV remote did not work fully but we only kept it on for white noise so it wasn’t a bother that it didn’t, probably needed new batteries. It also had a main menu for attractions and food we were able to get to which was very nice. We were able to walk to shops and other restaurants without crossing major roads or get into too much traffic. The downside I’m not used to is valet parking only. They gave us another option to public park or use the meters but we chose valet to have a private and close place for our car. When we went to check out, there was a parade close by which closed the surrounding roads and caused traffic and a lot of valet pick up buildup. We probably waited 30 minutes to get our car in the morning which was not anyone’s fault but if there was hotel-only self-parking then I could’ve left earlier and at my convenience. Nonetheless the valet men were very friendly and drove my car with care. The plus of the valet area is a very easy way to get picked up and dropped off by Uber.
