We had our wedding at the Masonic Temple in June and it was the most perfect day thanks to Danielle, Natalie, Angela, Jan and the entire Masonic Temple staff! For couples considering a Detroit venue - I cannot recommend the Masonic Temple enough. Danielle, Natalie and Angela were with us every step of the way through the planning process and made it easy and organized. For couples looking around at venues and who are generally organized/project planners, one of the biggest perks was not needing a wedding planner/day of coordinator because the Masonic Staff had it down to a science. They confirmed drop offs and set ups with our vendors and made sure they knew where to go - truly going above and beyond! Our 260 guests comfortably fit in the chapel, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception spaces (+ set up for a 12 piece band) and the food, which is catered by T&M Catering, was excellent (filet was a favorite and all the apps were 10/10). The food was served to all our 260 guests hot and in a timely manner. Guests raved about the bar and its selection (including espresso martinis). The space itself is breathtaking and full of history. Many of our guests were local to Detroit and had never been in this part of the building, so it was a gift in itself to host our wedding there.

Beautiful venue, but HORRIBLY managed. They sold $60 per person quick pass access, which was wonderful, made everyone feel like they weren’t in such a rush, they specifically said queuing before 5pm would not be permitted but allowed people to start cueing as early as 10AM . People who purchased this quick pass were also not allowed to get a wristband which was the other way of getting early access. It was also unknown but assumed that the people paying EXTRA MONEY TO THE VENUE would be allowed in first. This didn’t happen, wristbands were allowed in starting 10-15 minutes before quick pass for us only to be let in and DENIED ENTRY TO THE PIT! The door remained locked for like 3-5mins while the other side was open for wrist band people to go right through, by the time we entered, the pit was halfway full, by the time they finally got us into the pit, we might as well have been in the back we were maybe 20ft from it. I had an amazing experience seeing my artist because he put on a good show, however the entry in, the experience with the venue, the money spent and WASTED, I will never attend another concert here again, I never want to experience the chaos that I ensued.

Did you know this is the biggest masonic temple in the world? Security will not allow you in early. There’s small standing room only bar around corner to wait at ( across from parking garage). Went to see comedy show (brilliantly funny). Hall was beautiful, old style. Seats were comfortable. Can buy drinks and packaged snacks at bars.

I attended the Floetry concert. The concert was wonderful! My first time attending an event at the Temple and will be my last. As a person who uses a cane, I had an extremely hard time ambulating in/out of the facility. The incline to get to the concert area was very difficult to climb with the amount of folks who were also trying. Once inside, the lack of staff to help us find our seats was appalling. When asked for help, a male staff pointed to a general area. My husband was able to find another female staff who was able to assist us. The seats are quite uncomfortable and we were on the floor. Not enough leg room, and you had to stand to let someone by to get to their seat.

Nikki was really a boss helper tonight. Was so helpful and guided me when I was lost. Really hope they always have her around!
