This review is for the restaurant. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to eat. Recently went with a fairly large party. Were “served” by a waiter and a 15 year old boy that the waiter bossed around. We sat down and ordered apps. 30 minutes later we got them. After our apps we saw the one other group get rolls brought to them, which we did not. Asked the boy why we haven’t received dinner rolls to which we received an attitude and 1 basket of 6 rolls for 14 people. When I asked the waiter he tossed blame on the 15 year old. The food is mediocre but expensive. For my wife and 2 year old we paid $175 tip included. The best part was the singer belting out Frank Sinatra hits. Live and learn I guess.

Loved our stay! The restaurant was amazing. I got their Bouillappino (see picture) and it was so tasty, I was blown away! It was so perfect sitting out on their beautiful porch eating excellent food. And our room was clean and the staff was courteous. I will be staying there again!

We held our granddaughter's Bridal Shower at the Grenville last Saturday. Everything was perfect. The staff helped us with set up and provided professional and gracious service to our guests. The food was incredible - guests were going back for seconds!! We highly recommend this venue and look forward to attending some of their special events over the summer. It is also handicap accessible. Great time was had by all.

My family of 4 recently visited the hotel for an overnight stay for my wife's birthday and mothers day. When booking our room, we booked a king suite as it suited our needs for 4 perfectly. When we arrived to the lobby there was no one there to receive us. There were other staff members that had been setting up for the Mothers Day brunch the following morning and they noticed us standing there with luggage and thankfully went and found someone for us. Our key and paperwork had just been left on the front desk- it seemed as though they assumed we would just check ourselves in. The hotel seemed fairly deserted (which made sense since our stay was during the shoulder season) but when we opened the door to our room we could probably see why. The "suite" was maybe 8'x14'. In that small space, they jammed in a king bed and a day bed that had a trundle that pulled out. There was barely any room to move around the king bed and no room to walk in the room when the trundle was out. On top of the minimal size, we were awaken in the morning to music coming from below us which we can only assume came from the kitchen since we were staying on the second floor with no guest rooms below us. On their site it seems as though there are multiple king "suites" that are marketed as great for family stays- this room was not that- it was laughable at best. As it was my wife's bday and mothers day weekend, I decided not to make a scene and ask why we were placed in such a small room and that I would mention something on the way out. Well over $300 for a space this small, during an off season time, really explains the perceived low occupancy rate We were told that we could have a continental breakfast the next morning and that the buffet was sold out (again understandable) but the breakfast provided was really sad. Some small cereal options and hard boiled eggs that were overcooked (green yolks) and that were sour when you bit them- we decided we'd get breakfast elsewhere. We ended up going to Taylor Sam's and it was great! When we checked out there was actually someone at the front desk this time (mostly likely more for the brunch crowd than for the hotel guests) and when I returned the key she just said thank you. Had I been asked how our stay was (as is a normal custom) I would have shared our regrets about choosing this hotel for our stay for a family weekend. Sadly I wasn't given that opportunity. If you want to pay double what you would from a PP or Seaside Motel and have probably even less space than there- this hotel is for you. As for us, we've learned that an Inn that fancies itself like a Maine B&B that provides beautiful lodging and excellent service failed spectacularly on both fronts. What a disappointment.

We had the most spectacular getaway weekend at The Grenville. The rooms were spacious, well accommodating in many ways, and the water pressure in the showers superb. We had excellent meals at the Grenville including breakfast and dinner. Morning breakfast on the huge wrap around porch was such a treat. We enjoyed the short walk to the shore. We had plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas and towels from the supply closet. The staff always had smiles on their faces and the owner Harry treated us as family. Our favorite activity was the beach #1, The Ark restaurant #2 and the boardwalk #3. It went from a getaway weekend to a place I want to go every year. Our visit was in late September so the weather was perfect and we had the beach pretty much to ourselves. It was so relaxing and rejuvenating. I highly suggest a getaway weekend for you and loved ones at the Grenville.
