Stayed in Ocean City NJ for a comedy show for two nights. The hotel is nothing like the photos. It is in no way as bright and sophisticated as it appears. The hotel here feels like ur visiting your Grammys retirement home apartment who just so happens to hoard 1920s memorabilia. Very “dusty” “doily” kind of vibe. On night two, a transformer goes out at around 9pm while we are at the comedy show. When we return to our room, we walk past the front desk, speak to the attendant, then all the way to our room. The bottom floor is dark, there are no lights, and I smell something burning. We get to our room, there’s no power. We can’t turn on lights or see anything. We walk all the way back to the front desk to ask whats going on. They tell us the power is out due to a blown transformer and that we can change rooms. No one comes to help us with the pitch black rooms or even check for the burning smell thats in our room. No one called us to let us know anything was going on. We ask to check out and receive a partial refund. The charge is $253 a night, and we would not be staying the 2nd night. The ride home is several hours, we make it back around 4am. The following morning around 8am someone “Amanda” calls and offers an apology for our experience. They call it unacceptable! However, they will not offer any type of refund, but does offer 10% off our next stay. 🙃🙃🙃 Needless to say, I won’t be returning!

We spent 4 nights at the Flanders in March and enjoyed our stay. Our Oceanview suite (Number 812) was clean, quiet, in good repair and well apportioned. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower worked well. The view was great except for the amusement park under our window. The view of the closed rides were a major detraction. If you ignored the amusements, we had a clear view of the beach and the ocean. From the side windows we could see the entire Atlantic City area on a clear day. I would not stay here in the Summer due to the amusement park. A roller coaster rail was located maybe 20 yards from our side windows. The staff that we encountered were very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant, Emily's. We did not have a chance to have dinner there. I found the lobby to be interesting - filled with antiques. We had an event in the Garden Room. The physical room worked great and the food and service were excellent. I would go back, but not in the summer when the rides are going.

We went for Thanksgiving dinner. We did not stay overnight. We had never been here before. There were 9 in our party. The hotel lobby was so Christmasy. Beautiful. Very welcoming. We made our way to the 2nd floor (my husband and I walked up as opposed to the elevator. Not that we didn't try. Although the weight limit is 2000 pounds, it wouldn't take 9 of us up one floor. And I know we didn't weight 2000 pounds collectively! 🤔 Once there, it was confusing. So many people milling around, waiting in not very straight lines, to confirm reservations for dinner and to pay before entering the dining room. There were actually 2 separate lines but you couldn't see that until you got closer to the front. Most were 4 or more people in a group. Each single or couple trying to pay for themselves. With us, we had 4 couples and 1 single each trying to pay on one reservation. After paying, we stood to the side, snuggled against the wall to allow those leaving enough space, waiting to be escorted to our table. Although the dining rooms (there are 2 adjoining each other) are very large and filled with guests, it wasn't too noisy. Conversation was easy. The appetizers were so-so, as were the soups. The salads were fresh. I had the Ceasars. The main dishes were delicious. There was turkey, of course. And at the carving station there was ham and sirloin also. The Hawaiian Sweet Potatoes were excellent. Mashed Potatoes, green beans, stuffing, cranberry sauce, turnips and carrots filled my plate. There was also chicken and salmon that I was too stuffed to try. Then there were the desserts. So so good! We even had the opportunity to talk to the Chef who made all the desserts. I tried the Cranberry Apple Pie and the Bread Pudding. Scrumptious! And a cookie to go. 😉 All in all, we had a wonderful time. Although a bit confusing at first, it was worth it. And yes, we'd come again.

We hosted a 10-year remission celebration with The Flander's Hotel and it was BEYOND my expectations. The staff is incredible and communicative from start to finish. They answered my many emails and questions promptly and thoroughly. My experience was much easier planning alongside Molly and Lisa from the banquet department. Additionally, the day-of staff: Joanne, Wilbert, and John were exceptional. They kept the space clean, the food fresh and replenished, made good cocktails, and made sure everything was on time and running smoothly. The food was also delicious and there was so much variety in choice. We were in the Garden Room which was plenty of space for food, tables and dancing for the 60ish guests that attended. They set us up with so many recommendations, centerpieces, and above-and-beyond services. Some examples was packing up boxes with our things and taking them to our hotel room, free access to a mic and bluetooth connection for music, and finally helping us distract our guest-of-honor so that we could run into the room before them and yell surprise. This was an emotional event, and the staff went above and beyond to help us make this milestone feel as important to them as it was to us. If you are looking to host an event, genuinely reach out to the Flanders ASAP, because this was truly a remarkable experience from start to finish.

Beautiful room, very updated, great ocean views! Everyone very nice. Loved the older pictures and furniture in the lobby. I just would have preferred a hotter shower. All in all was a great experience!
