Dent Schoolhouse’s “A Christmas Nightmare” is one of the best seasonal overlays we’ve experienced. The holiday theming felt fully integrated into the haunt instead of just decorations slapped onto the normal show. From evil elves and screaming angels to the iconic basement and Hall of Skulls, Dent delivered high-energy scares with incredible detail throughout. The midway alone pushes this into destination status — free museums, high-end animatronic photo ops, great actors, merch, and seasonal drinks made the night feel like a full event instead of just a walkthrough. Charlie’s Basement mini escape game was also a standout and absolutely worth the extra $5. A few pacing issues near the finale kept it from feeling completely perfect, but overall this remains one of the premier haunt experiences in the country and a gold standard for holiday haunt overlays. Highly recommended for haunt fans and Christmas horror lovers alike.

This was so fun!! I want to go back for their Christmas Haunt. Actors were great. They engage in a friendly and slightly scary way. The detail in this haunt was amazing. My absolute favorite “room” to walk through was the BUBBLE ROOM (see results in my pics) which is the last room, I believe before you exit the Haunt and then you find yourself in the outdoor Midway. Here you can purchase souvenirs, food and beverages. They have a small parking lot right next door for only $10 or free parking in one of the Cincinnati hospital lots but it’s a slightly longer walk. You are not permitted to take any videos or take pictures while inside the actual Haunt but you can outside in the Midway. We had a blast and liked it way more than the Haunted Hootchie, located where I live in Columbus, Ohio.

If there’s one haunted attraction that truly defines what it means to be immersive, it’s The Dent Schoolhouse. The second you step into Dent, it’s like you’ve walked straight into a horror movie—every hallway, every flickering light, and every scream feels disturbingly real. You’re not just walking through a haunt… you’re completely consumed by it. How? Well the set design is unreal. Every single room looks like it was pulled straight from your worst nightmares. The amount of detail and craftsmanship here is absolutely next-level. The classrooms feel like they’ve been abandoned decades ago, the hallways layered with eerie realism, and every inch of the place tells a dark, twisted story. It’s not just a haunted house—it’s art brought to life through fear. And then there are the actors. My god, they are everywhere. You’ll find them in the walls, on the walls, and even bursting right out of them when you least expect it. Their timing is perfect—every scare feels personal, precise, and deliberate. You don’t just get startled; you feel like you’re being hunted. It’s an experience that grabs hold of you and refuses to let go. Dent doesn’t just scare you—it gets inside your head. Long after you’ve left, you’ll still be replaying certain moments in your mind. That’s the kind of lasting impact this place has. Huge thanks to Josh for being so welcoming and making our visit even more special. His passion and energy really show in everything Dent does—from the hospitality to the incredible attention to detail throughout the haunt. ⚠️ Pro tip: The lines can get very long (and trust me, that’s because this place is worth it), so do yourself a favor and grab the Fast Pass or Front Of The Line. You’ll skip the wait and dive straight into the madness. 🎃 Whether you’re a casual thrill-seeker or a full-blown haunt junkie, The Dent Schoolhouse is an absolute must. It’s not just another haunted house—it’s an experience that sets the bar for the entire industry. Don’t just take my word for it—go see it for yourself. Once you do, you’ll understand why it’s one of the most talked-about haunts in the country. 👻

They have a lot of new scares there. We had a great time. The actors are great, and everyone is friendly...but in a spooky way! Will definitely be back. Check out the Christmas tour as well. It's a great time! Highly recommend!

My family and I loved the Dent Schoolhouse. We traveled from Louisville Kentucky and it did not disappoint. Definitely get a pumpkin cookie or more they are delicious and now I may have to visit again soon to get more! I got to meet the pumpkin smasher and got to hug who I called Mr.Pumpkin. He looked really cool! Covered in pumpkins and a long black cloak. I met the axe throwing guy and he taught me how to throw an axe and after some time I finally hit the target!! He was patient with me and motivated me and now I’m gonna have to visit again for more lessons as well so definitely go throw some axes! He’s a great instructor :)
