The Buxton Inn is more than just a historic building—it is part of the story of Granville itself. Walking through its doors, you can feel the generations of memories, traditions, and community connections that have made it such a cherished landmark. What makes this moment especially exciting is seeing the incredible care and dedication being poured into its restoration. The renovations aren't simply updating a property; they're honoring its history while ensuring it remains a vibrant part of Granville's future. Every improvement reflects a genuine respect for what makes the Buxton so special. There is a sense of pride and purpose behind this project that is impossible to miss. The team is thoughtfully preserving the character and charm that people love while creating new experiences for future visitors and locals alike. The anticipation surrounding the upcoming restaurant is equally exciting. With a remarkably talented chef at the helm, it's clear that the culinary experience will be something truly memorable and a worthy addition to Granville's dining scene. Places like the Buxton Inn are rare. They connect a community to its past while creating new memories for the future. Watching this next chapter unfold has been inspiring, and I cannot wait to see the Inn fully restored and thriving once again as one of the true heartbeats of Granville. I hope everyone is as excited about it as I am!

If you want a perfect location on a visit to Granville and a place that has wonderful charm and truly is representative of Granville’s rich history this is the place to stay. As far as being haunted, we are believers but that depends on your openness to the supernatural. Thank you to Mark for being a great host, checking in on us, and making our stay comfortable. The new owners have done a fantastic job on updating the hotel while maintaining its historic charm. The rooms are spacious and clean and plenty of porches and outdoor space to spend time outside. When you check in, there is a very interesting figurine on a coffee table which at night if you pass a certain window you will think you are seeing something supernatural. Maybe it is? You be the judge.

My fiance and I were celebrating his birthday and had planned the over night trip before knowing about all the renovations taking place. We were informed a few weeks in advance and were aware of everything happening and still wanted to experience the Inn. When we arrived the staff was amazing. We had been told the original room (room 9) was unavailable due to work being done, which was disappointing but understandable, however Suzanne and the girls at the front desk went above and beyond. Suzanne made some calls and had workers make magic so Room 9 would be available. Everything was perfect! Also, Laura, the chef made us a delicious breakfast before we left for home. We could not have been more happy with our experience. We can't wait to go back after all the renovations are complete.

This place is so cool! The history itself is amazing. Mark was awesome for showing us around the place and telling us about stuff. The only upsetting thing was that the restaurant and bar were no longer in operation. From my understanding they are under new ownership and were doing some upgrades (construction), so I'm excited to go back in a few years and see it again! I didn't have any paranormal experiences, but my 2 sisters did..

This place is absolutely beautiful! These aren't your typical hotel rooms. The hotel is like an entire block of historic homes. Each home is then separated into different hotel rooms. The buildings may have originally been designed to have individual hotel rooms but from the outside these beautiful buildings could easily pass as single family or multifamily homes in a quiet historic neighborhood. There is plenty of parking and you can park directly in front of your room. Our room was very clean and had some snacks and food waiting for our convenience. This place is not like typical corporate stuffy unpersonalized hotels. The neighborhood itself is peaceful and vibrant and the locals are all very friendly. All the homes look maticuously maintained just like the hotel itself. And the yards are full of beautifully manicured gardens. The neighborhood is quite an experience by itself. We enjoyed walking around and looking at everything and enjoying the peaceful vibes. Anything and everything you could need is in walking distance from the hotel. And there are great walking trails throughout the neighborhood. Mark and the staff at The Historic Buxton Inn were all helpful, courteous and hospitipal throughout our stay. We will definitely return and I highly recommend this place. You will be glad you stayed here.
