I hit up Terror on the Square in Petersburg, Illinois — and wow, what an incredible haunt! As a lifelong Halloween and horror fan (and a sucker for a good jump scare), I’ve been spoiled by Hollywood-level experiences like Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando… but this one right here? It holds its own. 💀🔥 Every room is packed with story, detail, and atmosphere. The visuals are on point, the scares are timed perfectly, and the sound design is immersive and perfectly placed, playing its role beautifully in adding that extra layer of depth and atmosphere to the haunt. It’s seriously next-level stuff for Central Illinois. Massive shoutout to Shawn McKinney and the entire team — you all crushed it! 🙌 We’re lucky to have a pro-grade haunted house like this right in our backyard. No flights, no long lines, no theme park prices — just pure Halloween magic. If you’re looking for a legit haunted experience this spooky season, Terror on the Square is a must-do. Bravo to the team — I’ll absolutely be back next year! :-)

This was such a fun experience! The staff did an excellent job, the set and props were very well made, and I was definitely scared! I definitely want to go again! P.S. - Thank you to our tour guide for being very patient with me while I screamed and yelled like an annoying baby💗

Tickets were for 9:00, we didnt get in until 11:00. I had Friday night plans for after and they were all cancelled. Bring comfy shoes and a piss jug because you wont get a refund once your feet and back start to ache. Actors killed it tho. Not worth two hours standing on concrete nd $50 lmao

I really enjoyed it! My favorite haunted attraction. I came here for the first time earlier of October, and I loved it so much that I had to come back again, and with some new prey. I hope to come back here annually! This will be a new favorite tradition.
