We stayed in a house and it was a last minute reservation like the day before a holiday. Had a very nice time listening to live music and eating grilled hambergers which were delicious. It was very relaxing and quite place to stay.

If you're tired of the same boring chain hotels and chain restaurants and want something truly unique, you must stay at The Story Inn. The grounds were interesting and the general store/restaurant/bar was something from days-gone-by. Every room and outdoor area had something interesting to see. We stayed in the Lieber Room above the General Store and enjoyed the quaint furnishings of the 1800's. (Except the bed was very comfortable!!) The basement bar and outdoor seating were fun. Great place !!

Absolutely the best little getaway off the beaten path... The cottages and rooms are adorable. It really is like a step back in time. The whole area is wide open, the barn is open to look through, there is a super cute gazebo too! You can walk right into the horse stables, which are free to use if you want to bring your horses! The owner is the coolest guy to talk to, he really makes the experience worthwhile. The tavern is small but nice, features 2 booths amongst the U-shape bar. There is an entire outdoor seating area as well as many fire pits to enjoy. Go visit the Story Inn... It's one inconvenient location since 1851. Bring your whole family, bring yourself, or come alone. You won't regret it and you'll never forget it!

This review is exclusively for the restaurant. The atmosphere is very cute, we walked around the town before going in, there's a lot of history and it is in general an experience in and of itself. The staff was very accommodating and kind, very excited to show about the history and give us ideas while we waited for our reservation. It seems overall very well organized. Our only complaint was the price for the fine dining. Dessert and drinks were fair priced, but 80$ for filet and 70$ for ribeye that was good, not incredible, with sides that were good, not great, left us feeling like now that we've experienced it once we're happy to leave it as a memory. If the prices were $50 and $40 respectively we'd surely be back here and there. We're sure it has to do with just getting the food there itself, it's just too steep. Overall worth a visit for the hotel though, we're sure, and the pub is likely great with a reasonable price.

I had never heard of the Story Inn other than it was haunted. And it is… but it is SO much more. The people that work there are top notch, friendly, helpful and just overall family like. I was so impressed with them. The houses the service the everything was a 10/10. I can’t say enough and I will be back. Food is great service is great, and the bartender WT is a really great guy, and offers up the best doubles. I can’t say enough about this place…
