We purchased tickets for the celebrity night. Unfortunately, I did not experience any paranormal activity. I think the main reason being that there was too many people. The group size was enormous. Smaller groups would have made more sense. It’s difficult to keep 38 people quiet all at once (including a gentleman that fell asleep and started snoring). At one point, the groups were split into two, which helped a little but still too big of a group. It seemed a little chaotic because of the amount of people. By the time we got to do the free roam to explore the building, we were honestly exhausted and fatigued so we ended up leaving. I will own that part as to why I might not have seen any paranormal activity. Had I stayed and did the free roam, maybe I would have seen something? I can’t imagine that would have changed anything with 37 other people free roaming as well though. Additionally, the “celebrity” that everyone was looking forward to seeing (and paid extra to see) canceled last minute. That’s absolutely out of anyone’s control and I completely understand why they canceled, life happens. But our tickets were pretty expensive. I feel a small reimbursement should have been considered, but understand why it wasn’t. Business is business. All this to say, I think this place has massive potential, but in smaller groups. I would come back, but maybe for a private tour or something advertised for smaller groups. Avoid big groups if you want a true paranormal experience. One last note, many reviews make note of the owners “attitude.” I had zero issues with the owner of this establishment. She was very friendly, but it is a business and her rules must be respected. The only part I would have changed is allowing access to other beverages besides water. I was dying for my usual.

Honestly, based on reviews, I was very nervous about Sharon, the owner. So nervous that I read the rules, carefully, beforehand. You know what happened? Everything went great. The property was very big, and very creepy. We had a lot of fun exploring, and the employees were very pleasant, including Sharon. Here's how I see it - Sharon is very particular about who and what she allows on her property. I don't see any problem with that at all. She's entitled to make and enforce any rules she chooses, as it's her property, and her business. Yes, there are a ton of rules, and yes, some of them seem unnecessary... But again, her house, her rules. With that being said, she seemed to be a very blunt, no nonsense person. She certainly doesn't sugar coat things during check-in, but I wouldn't call her rude. What I witnessed was a few people who ignored the rules that they had agreed to follow when purchasing tickets, and Sharon's limited but understandable amount of patience with them. If you had to check a box to agree that you'll wear closed toed shoes, don't be surprised when she says you can't come in with flip flops. I hope you aren't turned away by the reviews, because our experience was nothing like we expected after reading them. Long story short - read the rules before you purchase tickets. Don't ignore them, and everyone will probably have a great time.

Every year around my birthday for the past couple years I choose an abanonded place to go tour on the east coast and my mom and I do just that 11/10 loved it here, so much to see, love the plaques to learn the history of the rooms, and loved listening to the video at the beginning.

I can confirm all the negative reviews you will see recently on here are accurate. We saw them all first hand. What we thought would be a cool experience, instead ruined our anniversary. Mainly because the owner was the one of the rudest and nastiest person I’ve ever encountered. She flips out on people for no reason and don’t bother bringing anything as she will confiscate it as potential weapons even plastic flash lights. She also has an angle to try to squeeze more money at every angle once you get there including selling mini mag light once inside… think they would be better weapons than a plastic light. Otherwise it was just a cool building that has been ruined by corny props and junk that was added. Faded fake attempts at blood stains, clutter that’s dated well after it was no longer in use or obviously not from that era. After speaking to someone who used to give tour with the previous owner and also visited, we learned the rooms have been switch around and aren’t accurate and all the clutter that looks like stuff from garage sales and garbage picking was not there with the last owner. The website was awful and the owner has a ton of reasons listed that she can keep you money and deny entry or kick you out. I’ll never go back and wouldn’t recommend it! Wish we had gone years ago with the last owner still there!

Wanted something different to do, something out of the norm. This definitely filled that void. Did the guided tour and by doing that, learned so much about the history of the asylum. There’s also a self guided tour, however I believe getting some insight of the place first helps if you decide to wander around on your own. It’s a rather interesting place to explore. I believe people should go without any preconceived ideas from talking to anyone else and form their own opinions about the asylum.
