Visited the Westbury House and Gardens and was thoroughly enchanted by the experience. We went to view the Lego artwork in the gardens, but stopped in the House first. Joyce, our docent guide, was fabulous- extremely knowledgeable about the family history, furniture, paintings, secret passageways- all of it! She answered our questions with grace, and was genuinely enthusiastic to share her knowledge. The house is gorgeous and the furnishings original- a terrific snapshot of the opulence of the wealthy in the early 20th century. The gardens are carefully maintained and alive with color. The Lego artwork was amazing and appropriately situated. Very highly recommended.

Old Westbury Gardens is one of Long Island’s most elegant and enchanting destinations, offering a perfect blend of history, architecture, and beautifully landscaped nature. From the moment you arrive, you are transported into a world of timeless sophistication that feels like a scene from a classic film. At the heart of the estate is the magnificent Westbury House, a grand English-style mansion filled with period furnishings, art, and exquisite details that provide a glimpse into early 20th-century aristocratic life. Walking through its rooms feels like stepping back in time. However, the gardens are truly the highlight of the estate. Impeccably maintained and thoughtfully designed, they change with the seasons, showcasing vibrant colors in spring and summer, and a serene charm in the fall. From formal gardens and rose collections to tranquil ponds and tree-lined paths, every corner invites you to slow down and take it all in. This destination is ideal for a peaceful stroll, a romantic outing, or a quiet moment of reflection. The expansive grounds provide plenty of space to explore at your own pace, with new scenic views waiting around every corner.

Not a bad place to spend 2 hrs. Old mansion has gilded age museum showing the old routes. Flower garden has a variety of plants mostly roses. Ignore the Google map directions, it will take you to the service entrance which is closed. Instead make a right at old country road and go straight. Admission is $22 with free parking.

What a beautiful setting and walk through the grounds! Pure nature and magnificence. Such a historical place with character, art, stature - I can see why it’s a museum now! Love how it’s been preserved. A must say if in the area. I went with my best friend 2 weeks ago and we were in awe the whole time walking through the mansion and grounds, garden, pond, etc.

This was an absolutely beautiful garden. It feels like you are in a garden straight out of a movie. There are giant trees and hedge mazes. You can easily wander around here for hours. There's a giant Mansion at the center of the garden that acts as a sort of museum as well. It was definitely worth coming all the way out here. There is an issue with the Google maps navigation to this location though. It told us to take a road on private property.
