The story

About QC Haunted Forest

in takes advantage of a large rural property to create an outdoor haunt built around genuine darkness and a long the woods. Guests begin near the lodge before a hayrack ride transports them toward the haunted forest, where the main experience stretches across rough natural terrain. The property covers dozens of acres and advertises more than a mile of haunted hiking, allowing actors, props, lighting and environmental scares to be spread through a setting very different from a conventional indoor maze. Bonfires, food and a heated waiting area add to the evening while groups prepare to enter the forest. Because the attraction uses gravel and dirt paths and is exposed to weather, visitors are encouraged to dress appropriately and wear hiking-friendly closed-toe shoes.

Honestly disappointed with our experience. For the price I expected a longer experience. From the time we started the path to when we left only 15-20 minutes elapsed, and we took a casual stroll. The event starts with a video to set the stage, but with all the extra noise we couldn’t even hear it. While walking the forest there were a lot of long stretches with no scares. There were also several steeper areas with loose gravel that almost caused us to slip and fall (others in the party behind us did). The actors didn’t seem to be very involved. They didn’t stay in character after the initial scare attempt. In a few spots we walked upon actors just chatting and not even attempting to scare. Overall we left fairly disappointed with the visit.

Went for the first time a few weeks ago after it was recommended by a friend. My roommate looked up reviews that made it look like it used to be ~okay~ but then reviews for this year were significantly better, so naturally we thought they had improved. Turned out the reason there are suddenly so many positive reviews is because they had a sign out front that said "leave a positive review on google and show the bartender, and you'll get your choice of a free popcorn or hot chocolate". Bribing people for good reviews is tacky. My roommate did it and got the hot chocolate, and said it wasn't even good. Now for the event itself.. it's super hyped up. From the beginning it looks like it's going to be awesome. They take you into a little room to watch a video that makes it sound like you're walking into a containment facility with patient zero. Then once you take the trailer ride over there, you spend the first 5-10 minutes just walking on unsteady ground, with no jump scares or anything. There were a lot of really cool props, I'll give them that, but when you'd get closer to the scarers, they'd only get into character once they realized you were there. Oh and nothing else carried on the "CDC disease" theme, it was only at the very beginning. Near the end you couldn't even really tell which direction you were supposed to go. Honestly there was soooo much potential. If they added a few fog machines and a few more scarers (that actually stayed in character) it could be great. But it wasn't worth the hour and a half drive or the $25 to get in. The drink/snack prices were surprisingly low, so that was cool. But overall I don't recommend it.

I was part of a group that got to go out and scare in the woods. We had the best time and our group was so much fun. We had tons of screams and cringes!!! The staff was awesome and the make up artists were epic!! Everyone who came through the woods were loving it!! Absolutely recommend this for all who dare to get through the forest and not be scared!!!

Took a family of 5 here. One first timer and we had a great time. Loved seeing the beautiful snake. Definitely worth it.
