My partner and I have lived in Madison for over 17 years, but somehow we only recently discovered American Ghost Walks. We booked it as a last-minute date night and ended up getting tickets for the very first walk of the 2026 season. It turned into such a fun and memorable evening. Even though we’ve walked these downtown streets countless times, hearing the history mixed with local oral stories gave us a whole new appreciation for some of Madison’s most recognizable spots. Our guide, Lisa, was fantastic. We had a smaller group, but she kept the energy high, was genuinely funny, and kept everyone engaged the entire time. The route itself makes for a great evening stroll, with beautiful views of the Capitol as the sun goes down. To top it all off, Lisa joined us for a drink after the tour wrapped up. We had a great conversation, and she even convinced us to head to New Orleans for our upcoming wedding anniversary. If you’re looking for a great date night idea or just want a unique look at local history, this is definitely worth doing. Huge thanks to Lisa for kicking off the season so well!
