We held our wedding and reception at Lemp mansion. It is a beautiful historic house. The cost is good for all inclusive food and bar, and one night in a suite. The patio space and gazebo are lovely with hanging baskets of ferns and other flowers around. They were accommodating with making signature drinks, have tables to place guest book and gifts, etc, and were helpful with set up of the centerpieces. We had a rehearsal walk through a few nights before the wedding. We held photos ahead of the wedding and were able to check in and use space early. We had the taco bar, which had some good options. Overall we had a great wedding with loved ones. A few issues came up we thought are good to know for others considering the location. There are no speakers or mics, so DJ or others must provide their own. The mansion backs up to the highway, which is loud, however during the ceremony I didn't notice. The dinning room was open for public service during our wedding and when I was walking out to line up for the procession, there were guests coming in to eat. Didn't realize this would happen and it was distracting from our private moments prior to the ceremony and after when passing them in the entrance. There seemed to be confusion about our wedding cake service timing and our wedding party did not receive any cake after we asked. We did hold up the toast for a few while we asked for our wedding party to be served a glass as well. While the food was pretty good, the taco shells were stale, unfortunately. The real shock was that even though our reception ended at 1030 and we had to be all cleared out by 11pm, the staff started clearing and removing tables at 10pm. We had a small wedding but that should not mean the staff closes early. With 20 people still standing around talking, dancing, getting drinks throughout the space, we were clearly not all done and leaving. These large (10 person) tables were being rolled out through the middle of our reception and past guests. It was very disruptive and disappointing. Our guests came back from the bar to find their seats gone. My husband asked the staff to stop and they did. However, this signaled to our guests to leave and we had damage control trying to ask people to stay and have some time to say goodbye. It was embarrassing to have happen. Staff tip is required in cash before the wedding also, our tip would have reflected this service. Three stars since the removal of tables was so disruptive and seems like an obviously avoidable issue that impacted our guests and our wedding night.
