About Kennebec Arsenal
The Kennebec Arsenal is a 41-acre historic compound featuring eight granite buildings constructed between 1828 and 1838. Originally built as a munitions depot for the United States military, the site later served as part of the Maine State Hospital. It is a National Historic Landmark District currently closed and abandoned.
