I went to the 250th anniversary fireworks celebration. It seemed great until the end. Everyone gathered at the busses to go back to the parking, and some random angry guy in a generic gray shirt emerges from the shadows and starts screaming about people cutting in line. Someone tries to explain, politely, that people were lining up, and he threatens to call the police on her if she doesn't go to the back of the line. She demands to know who this random weirdo is, and he claims to own the 4th of July event and gets in her face. This man seemed confident in who he was and he was still there screaming at people 45 minutes later when we got back to the front of the line, so I assume he was actually someone in charge. The event was hosted by this company, Historic Newburgh, so I assume he was the founder or CEO of the company. Needless to say, the shuttle trip was a slow fiasco and chaotic. Edit: I looked up the board of Historic Newburgh, and he doesn't appear to be on it. Definitely not the president or executive director. He could have been with the event in some other way (Warrick County America 250?), but the president and executive director there are both women. So, Historic Newburgh let a no name volunteer scream at their guests for an hour while representing them. Real professional event management here...
