I recently visited Fort Wayne Museum and appreciated that admission was free, which made it easy to stop by and explore. However, the experience was fairly limited. There were no guided tours available during my visit, and visitors were not allowed onto the porch or to look inside the building, so the visit mainly consisted of viewing the exterior from a distance. Additionally, the grounds could have been better maintained, as the grass appeared overgrown and uncut. While I understand preservation restrictions may limit access, I was hoping for a more interactive and informative experience. Overall, I would rate my visit a 5/10. The free entry is a nice benefit, but there is room for improvement in visitor access and presentation.

Visited there awhile back and it was excellent. Walking the grounds was interesting and historic to appreciate. I am hoping to see the place become a tourist stop if for nothing else than exercise outdoors and an appreciation of this Old Fort. It is of course in disrepair and not well maintained, but with the Gordie Howe Bridge opening hopefully it will become a place to explore.

So much history, walking around was surreal. Nothing gory or gross. A lot of the buildings are in disrepair and you cannot go in them, but seeing and knowing the area it is amazing to see. The actual Fort was creepy but cool. Seeing where they stationed, walking through the halls they walked. Still in very good shape. The barracks are still in very good shape although at the time we were unable to enter. It's a great place to visit!

Free admission to see this awesome historic fort on the waterfront. It was awesome to walk around and see the old buildings and tour the area. This was such a treat to see. We really enjoyed the tunnels and artillery room.
