5/5 stars all the way! We had a wonderful one night stay in the Bullock Suite in July, 2026. The bed was very comfortable, the shower had great water pressure, and my wife said the bathtub was great! The room was beautifully appointed with everything we could have asked for, including wonderful antique furnishings. I would 100% stay here again if in the area, and strongly recommend staying here. My kids stayed in a different room and said they had some paranormal activity, including something my daughter said she caught on camera, but I'm skeptical. I didn't experience anything myself.

Came to SD to see all the sights and had an awesome time. Although the hotel is in a good location, it has a lot of issues! My sister and I checked in on Sunday afternoon to stay till Saturday. First the double room was dark, no place to plug the chargers we had in except in a power strip behind a mini fridge. The room had not been vacuumed, the window shade was broken and when you lifted it there was just a brick wall to view. The bathroom was an antique with an old beat tub from the 70s, and the towels were like sand paper. When we got back to the room the second day, the room had not been cleaned up as in beds made, no vacuum and they didn’t empty the overflowing trash can. The second day they did ok, the third day we asked if they could vacuum, then Friday morning we woke up to no toilet paper there had only been a small amount left in the room on Thursday. When we asked for things to be done, they did get done. Oh, there were hairs in the shower when we arrived also. Won’t stay here again. The place is’ dead’ and needs cleaning staff and a remodel! Don’t eat in the cafe it was terrible also.

We didn't stay here, just had breakfast. Great Bloody Mary! The food was OK, a little on the greasy side. Our server was working her butt off, the only one for a full dining room of breakfast eaters. Cool historic atmosphere.

We found our way into Bully's for breakfast after catching a glimpse of their menu on the window outside. We didn't even realize we were walking into a hotel. Such a cool spot full of history. There's one smaller dining room, and your food is cooked right behind the bar. Of course, with one cook in a 5 x 5 kitchen, things will take a little longer than fast food, but for the sake of having a fresh, warm meal, in a preserved historic room it was a win all around. Quinten was super busy keeping up with a full room on his own, but he stayed on top of everything

My wife and I recently had a two night stay at the Bullock in Deadwood, SD. The location, reservation staff along with the gentleman that sees to your needs while gambling were all excellent . With that said the price of the room was greatly overpriced for a motel with rooms that sorely needs renovations. Along with rooms needing updates our shower towels had wear and tear holes in them, there was a wad of chewing gum laying at the top corner of the shower wall (for how long who knows) and the final kicker was when we entered the restaurant for breakfast rather than being greeted we were simply told that staff was behind with orders. We then checked out and stopped in Rapid City for breakfast. While my wife and I have stayed at this motel many times over the years I doubt that we will be back in the future. Dan Moller
