Halloween Hauntings at Milwaukee Public Museum

This museum continues to be an amazing place even as it winds down. It's closing permanently on January 3, 2027. The new museum may be OK, but will never match this. Do yourself a favor and visit several times, especially if you have children, before it's too late. The total immersion and attention to detail is remarkable.

One of my favorite museums! Went as a kid and recently came home to WI to visit from KS. Everything was the same as I remember and had such a fun time! Streets of Old Milwaukee has always been my favorite as well as Living Oceans.

It was great. I wanted to see the old museum one last time before it closes for good. I have had so many memories there from my childhood and adulthood.

The butterfly vivarium is the highlight of the museum, followed closely by the live insect and related kin exhibit. The rest of the museum is a tour de force in life sized diorama, which, in my opinion, is diorama overload. I am looking forward to 2027 when the museum moves to the new location with more space, with hopefully fewer dioramas and more interactive and interesting exhibits.

Haven’t been here in years! It was great to see the old streets of Milwaukee before they head to their next location. The butterfly exhibit was fun, too!
