The story

About Great Godfrey Maze

The transforms Glazebrook Park in into a large community fall attraction built around a seven-acre corn maze. The maze operates on fall weekends, with daylight visits during the day and after-dark exploration on Friday and Saturday nights. Additional attractions include a cow train, hay wagon, jumping pillow and corn crib, while the concession stand keeps food and drinks available during maze . October also brings a separate Haunted Maze on select nights for visitors who want a scarier experience. The event is operated by the Village of Parks and Recreation Department and remains more affordable and community-focused than many commercial fall festivals, making it a strong downstate Illinois option for families and groups.

Very family friendly place. There is lots of parking but it's spread out so you may have to walk a bit to get to the entrance. You buy tickets at the concessions stand and there is also food available like warm pretzel w cheese, candy, hot dog, bottled drinks etc. There is a regular maze and a haunted maze and you can buy individual passes or various combo or unlimited day passes. When you go in the maze you take a pole with a flag so if you get lost you raise it and a worker will come get you and lead you out. For the regular maze, the entrance and exit are the same place. Not sure for the haunted maze. There is also a box full of corn kernels, like a sandbox, for children to play in (I believe it is described as corn enrichment for children lol).

The haunted corn maze had some strong spooky vibes at the beginning, but it quickly fell away. Once we were in the maze, there were few workers to scare you - but there were overwhelming numbers of teens and tweens (who didn't work there) simply running around yelling for no reason, completely ruining the experience.

This park is a Ron Swanson dream. It is a city park that offers at cost entertainment for the kids. There is a lot of cool things happening at that park: zip lines, huge bouncy mat, corn maze, hay ride, and kiddie train are the for purchase entertainment. Then all of the nice free park things as well: paved walking trail, pond, soccer fields, concession stand, and all very well maintained.
