The story

About Gettysburg National Military Park

Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania preserves the landscape of the Battle of Gettysburg, fought July 1–3, 1863, during the American Civil War. The battle involved tens of thousands of Union and Confederate soldiers and resulted in approximately 51,000 casualties, making it one of the bloodiest battles of the war. Today, the park protects battlefields, monuments, historic structures, and sites such as Little Round Top, Devil’s Den, Cemetery Ridge, and the fields associated with Pickett’s Charge. The enormous loss of life has also made Gettysburg one of America’s most famous locations for paranormal stories. Visitors have reported apparitions resembling soldiers, unexplained voices, distant gunfire, footsteps, strange lights, and mysterious fog or mist across portions of the battlefield. Devil’s Den, the Triangular Field, and areas around Cemetery Ridge are frequently mentioned in reported encounters. While these experiences remain part of local folklore, they have become closely intertwined with Gettysburg’s modern reputation. Visitors today can explore the battlefield while learning about the real people and events behind one of the most important moments in American history.

Awesome experience we learned so much at museum. The cinema experience, VR stories, and cyclorama were super cool too. I'm not a history buff or anything and I enjoyed all the things. We also did the car tour on our own, and that was 10/10! Everything from the narration, to all of the statues, the well thought out roads with plenty of space for you to stop and see everything. Our whole experience was amazing. I cannot recommend it enough.

Drove by the car, and stop by the point to point for the photos spots. It was 97 degrees temperature this afternoon, we could not walk so much due to the weather. Anyway, it was very impressive to tour battle fields. Many monuments, statues, and memorable places to includes visitor center. Army band was playing brass instruments.

This place was absolutely wonderful but I recommend planning to be there more than one day. There's just too much to learn about and take in with just a day's time. The museum and visitors center alone was worth spending a whole day. The history of the place and the exhibits inspire respect and reverence. Learning more about the battle with it's carnage and death makes me more thankful for the country we live in the people willing to put their lives on the line for it. Regardless of which side of the lines they fought on they all were fighting for a cause they loved and shaped our country.

★★★★★ **An unforgettable, deeply moving experience – a must-visit!** I visited the Gettysburg Museum & Visitor Center in Pennsylvania and it completely exceeded all my expectations. This is hands-down one of the best historical museums I’ve ever been to. From the moment you walk in, the attention to detail and the powerful storytelling pull you right into the heart of one of America’s most pivotal moments. The exhibits are incredibly well done – immersive, respectful, and packed with artifacts, interactive displays, and personal stories of soldiers and civilians that bring the Battle of Gettysburg to life. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the facility is clean and modern, and the location right on the battlefield makes it even more special. Whether you’re a history buff, a student, or just someone who appreciates incredible American heritage, this museum delivers an educational and emotional experience that stays with you. We left with a much deeper understanding and appreciation for the sacrifices made there in 1863. If you’re anywhere near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, do yourself a favor and make this a priority stop. Worth every penny and every minute. Highly, highly recommend – easily 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It is absolutely the most incredible and informative places we have ever been. We joined the Friends of Gettysburg years ago and we have visited more times then we can count. The museum, the Cyclorama, the Ranger programs we cant say enough good things and exhibits are truly humbling. The Battlefield the National Cemetery, living history events, Battlefieldbus tours are all 10 out of 10. We are so grateful to be able to visit such a special place with so much importance and meaning. We learn new things every time we visit. We have visited in every season, weekends, weekdays holidays there it is always the right time to visit.
