I am.local but have never visited here before ubtil some out of town friends came and wanted to go. I really enjoyed seeing how thr sculptures for the floats are made. It was also neat to learn that this studio makes all the cows for chik fil a and all the dogs for Raising Canes. Really neat place but it is a warehouse and is warm. There is also a free shuttle to take you there and back from nearby hotels.

This place is delightful! It’s a treasure trove of beautiful Mardi Gras artifacts, all very well displayed. And while you’ll certainly have a good time if you do the self-guided tour, you really need to hear presentation by Carl. His passion is obvious and shines through everything he does, and he turns a cool museum into a genuine experience.

Highly recommend taking this tour. It’s very informative and they let you roam around the warehouse filled with floats. While we were there we saw people working on floats which was a neat experience to see them in action. I learned a lot about the history and our guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the entire experience. We walked over from the French quarter, but they do offer a free shuttle which is a really nice touch.

Randomly decided to take our girls here. We didn’t care about the price of tickets. We just wanted something to do and this was it. It was a short drive from our hotel. The customer service was great. It starts off with a history video which was fun to learn and a taste of king cake! Then a guided tour about the history and props. The kids enjoyed it as well. The kids are age 13,11 and 7. They give you a special ticket that also gets you on their shuttle bus to different stops, which is fun! We didn’t use this service but it’s there.

Such a unique experience! I attended an event here as part of a conference and it was incredible. Seeing all the floats was truly a highlight for someone who has never been to Mardi Gras. The rest of the venue was beautiful and each turn was a new adventure.
