About Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park
Fort Hartsuff, near Elyria, served as an infantry outpost on the Nebraska prairie from 1874 to 1881. It is one of the most complete examples of the small prairie forts. Today, visitors can stroll the gravel path around the parade ground, follow along the white picket fence that surrounds the fort, and explore buildings staged in the 1870s era.
