If you know the story of the raven, this is the home of that author. Really unique experience in the city if richmond. For parking youll need to park on the street. After you pay to enter you have full access to walk around the house. My favorite section was the library

My dad and I decided to visit the museum on a whim. It was a 20-minute walk from our hotel and easy to locate. Outside the building, there are tour instructions for those who purchased tickets and those who did not. We were able to snag 2 of the last spots for the upcoming tour (they begin at the top of the hour). The guide was very knowledgeable and was able to go "off script" in answering and elaborating on some questions and answers. As 2 tall people, we enjoyed the home without bumping our heads. The stairs can be a bit scary haha, and I noticed that there is a 300 lb limit on them, if I'm not mistaken. You can stay with the guide and/or peruse the home at your leisure. The parlor of the home is turned into the museum shop, so we left with a couple of knick knacks. Lastly, we were told that there are bricks across the street purchased by donors and carved with their favorite Edgar Allen Poe quotes. So, our time at the museum extended beyond the house walls. Overall, we found it informative and appreciated learning something new!

My wife and I went here only recently even though we have lived in Maryland for over 35 years. What a treat that this house is still standing and we can visit it today. The inside of the house is decorated as it was when Poe lived in it which was awesome. We really appreciated the briefing provided by the host when we entered with the house. It prepared us for what we were going to see and have us a little history of Poes time in the house. While there was a small store as you enter, it will be exciting when they finish their refurbishment of the museum and what that will mean for the museum. We liked that only 16 could enter at one time and you basically had the museum with the group you are a part of for 45 minutes. Because of the small size of the rooms in the house, only allowing 16 at one time gives everyone enough room to move around.
