Historic monastery containing buildings and grounds that are now repressed for the Cumberland Library and aspects of local child services. Acres of trails behind the monastery make for great hiking through small ponds and nearby wetlands.

For locals who want a short adventure and enjoy a bit of history, this is a fun stop. While the trails can be tricky to navigate, other amenities like the playground, library, and plenty of benches in the memorial park make the stop well worth it. I look forward to returning to Cumberland Monastery for future walks.

Lots of trails. Easy to walk. Used the All Trails App to keep track.

This is a nice destination, you can choose for an easy stroll on a gravel trail or you can explore more discrete side trails. There are some interesting stones from previous structures or just old construction material in the form of stone slabs left in the woods. It's mostly shady and felt cooler than the temperature outside, great for these summer days. In this trail I encounter a deer, a snapping turtle and a garden snake. And if you have young children there is a fenced playground right at the entrance. Planty of parking is available

Nice playground- fenced in with settings, a sandbox, and climbing structures. Great for littles up to age 7/8. Haven't tried the trails yet but will when it gets warmer and my toddler gets older.
