Stopped in and took the family on a tour. We came at the end of the day so we were a little rushed - our fault... I would definitely recommend giving yourself at least two hours to give everything a solid look - especially if you like history. Pro tip: they offer a military discount if you are active or have served.

I love the locally made moonshine they have available for sale. Low cost tasting allows you to sample and figure out which ones you like. Ended up buying a bottle of whisky. If you're in the area and like 'shine you should stop by and check them out!!

Restaurant, distillery, and tours were excellent. We had an awesome time even though it was pouring the rain all day. It's well worth the drive. They offer a few different types of tours, we took the self guided tour, and probably had more fun figuring things out for ourselves.

Really unique location for a distillery. The prison history is fascinating and the mountain backdrop is beautiful. The distillery itself is pretty cool. I did a moonshine and whiskey tasting and very much enjoyed their whiskey and at only $45 a bottle, bought it. Definitely worth the trip.

We visited the distillery. We were there on Saturday at lunch time and lines were very long for restaurant. The cost for a tasting of 5 of their products is $5. If you purchase any bottles you get $5 off your first bottle, if you have paid for a tasting. They have a lot of flavored moonshine as well as a decent whiskey. There is paved parking directly in front of the building as well as a gravel lot. Up on the hill above the distillery there are some picnic tables and a playground. The prison is further along that you can tour. There is a large public restroom.
