My fiancé has been a haunt actor for over 10 years on the west coast (where he’s from). I have been a haunt actor for 3 years, and a film and horror enthusiast my entire life. We came to Bayville Scream Park tonight for the first time ever; based on previous bad reviews, I wasn’t expecting much…but was pleasantly VERY surprised by this haunt attraction! Do NOT listen to the bad reviews if you’re a haunt enthusiast like my fiancé and I. We understand first hand the amount of work that gets put into building a seasonal haunt like this, and we were SO impressed. The attention to detail in the haunt scenes was incredible. The props and animatronics were all TOP notch…visibly high quality, both vintage and newer pieces…as an oddities and horror memorabilia collector, I could tell, and was in awe of some of the animatronics and prop pieces included in the haunt sets. There were several stand out haunt actors, one in particular in the Asylum house that really impressed us…I wish I could remember their name, but they were an insane clown type of character towards the end of the asylum…truly excellent haunt actor that I could tell loves their job. The themed drinks at both the regular and secret bars were all delicious and pretty strong. The syringe Jell-O shots were tasty and so much fun! The food at Shipwreck restaurant was delicious, and the decor inside the restaurant itself was spectacular. The staff were all incredibly nice, accommodating, and helpful. I was so excited to learn that the owner of Bayville Scream Park also used to own Jekyll & Hyde NYC…a horror themed restaurant that I spent many days at (including my 16th birthday party) growing up…it was one of my favorite things to visit in NYC and I was literally devastated to find out they closed down after the covid shut downs. Once I was told the owner was the same, I knew why the Scream Park was SO well done and had so many impressive set builds, props, and animatronics. I would love to sit and chat with the owner sometime because I have so many ideas for future haunt builds at this place and would love to meet a fellow haunt enthusiast that I’ve unknowingly admired for so many years growing up at Jekyll & Hyde NYC! We had a blast and intend to visit Bayville Scream Park again in October! Our favorite haunts there were the Insane Asylum and Bloodworth Manor, but they were genuinely all great. We are thinking of auditioning next year!

I honestly didn’t know what to expect at this park. It was a long commute for sure. By car it’s 45 mins - 1 Hour non stop on the 495 LIE but by training and bus took me about 1 hour from Woodside to great neck via train, 1+ hour by N24H red bus from the station to a random stop in basically the middle of nowhere and then I had to spend $20 on a Lyft to get to the park about 8-10 miles away since it’s secluded, sits in the edge of nowhere basically and the only way to get there is by car. It was freezing cold and the park is usually open on occasions like Halloween or Easter. I showed my ticket which was a speed pass I had spent about $87 to get online for all 5 haunted houses. The houses all lead to the same one exit in the back of the park with tracked paths leading you to the entrance of the park by the cars. There is only street side parking available but good luck trying to find one with so many people coming at the same time all taking up the spots. At least is free so there’s that. The food at the cafe was modest at best not to mention pretty basic, rudimentary and standard but the prices blew it way past absurd as I had spent $20 on a small hot dog with fries, a single slice of pizza and a lemonade with no free refills. The arcade was pretty small and had your basic games you would expect and the tickets to redeem at the prize station from each game didn’t really have anything that was over the top. The rock wall was closed off sadly and everything else like the extra attractions (zombie axe throwing, mini golf, the train trail, zip lines and climbing, etc) all costed extra which you had to tack on with your tickets if you wanted to do them. Believe me they are not worth it. To be honest with you I lap found the haunted houses to be pretty late because the ratio of props/mannequins to human actors trying to scare you was basically 90:10 which meant a lot of the actual scarring came down to loud noises, 0 to flashing lighting, and jump scares from a handful of select actors who would chase you for some time through the maze but never touch as they are instructed. I was expecting a lot more from this seeing as how I heard a lot of good things from this place from others and how everything was displayed took a lot of time and effort. But nonetheless it was greatly exaggerated. They do change the attractions and everything every year so that’s good news and overall the park does intend to set out what it’s meant to do. This reminds me of adventure land which is also in Long Island but on the opposite corner. It’s mainly a park for middle and high schoolers to be exact. Great date spot as well to bring a loved one or a family.

Went for the Not so Scary kids time slot. No actors but the staff was mostly friendly. One man had had enough for the day by the time we got there but the other 10 staff members we saw were great. Loved the decorations and the food in the tavern was good. The attractions that were open were entertaining for my 8 year old. Older kids might not have found this time slot so exciting. Overall pretty good. would like to try again when ours is older for the night attractions.

I liked certain esthetics. Went on a Thursday. There wasn't many people in general. The mansion had the most actors and decorum. The temple was basically me and my partner just wandering through a maze. it even lacked basic decor and there were only a couple actors in it. Basically was an experience and that was that. I don't recommend for the price and the strict no refund even if weather is bad

Expectations, expectations, exceptions... We had a great date night at this horror experience. Yes... It wasn't the scariest or at times wasn't scary at all, but it was fun. I recommend getting the 6 house experience because the three additional houses made a big difference. The unique touches like the secret bars and having actual mazes made this a fun and unique experience. My favorite houses were the mansion and the asylum. My least favorite was the cage, but the bar there had cool theming. To get the most out of the experience, I would buy early and pick a weekday. It was pretty much empty and no speed pass was necessary. I think you miss out on more jump scares. There were plenty of scare stations that were unoccupied. I imagine that they are fully staffed these on the weekends. Nevertheless, nothing beats no lines, getting all the scares without spoilers, and strolling along the haunted mini golf course with your drink from the secret bar.
