The story

About Andrew Jackson Hotel

Historic, charming, and quite possibly haunted, the Andrew Jackson Hotel is one of the most unique and authentic places to stay in the New Orleans French Quarter. Our 18th-century European-style pet-friendly hotel is a true local treasure, steps away from swinging jazz clubs, world-class restaurants, and the lively bars of Bourbon Street.

Absolutely loved staying here! The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They even let us keep our luggage downstairs, which made everything so much easier. Every morning they would bring room service and always checked in to ask if we needed anything or if there was any way they could help. The location is amazing — right near the French Quarter and Bourbon Street, so pretty much everything is within walking distance. It’s also only about two blocks from the cathedral, which made exploring so convenient and fun. Staying here was such a cool experience. I would definitely come back! I didn’t personally experience any hauntings, but the place definitely has a creepy vibe in the best possible way. If you love history and enjoy a spooky atmosphere, this is definitely the place for you. It’s such a cute, safe place to stay, and the staff truly made the experience unforgettable!

The only redeeming qualities is the location and courtyard. Management has absolutely neglected this hotel. Service: There were no staff present at our 4pm check in and the keypad lock to our room wasn’t functioning. We called 5 times and emailed the helpline with no response. We had to contact their sister location to provide us with a physical key. There was only one day out of a 5 day stay that I consistently saw a receptionist, otherwise good luck getting ahold of their sister location. We were also only offered house keeping and fresh towels on the second day. They offer a valet service but beware it will take them 30-45min to drive one mile. Oh, and they will eat half of your pack of gum if you leave it in your car! They also didn’t have water available consistently in the lobby, literally not offered at all on the hottest day of the week. Room condition: No weatherstripping on outside doors, moldy shower liners, moldy bed skirts, grimy/stained sheets, broken furniture, a random metal pipe scotch taped to the bathroom window (I suppose that’s the best safety measure they could come up with). Need I say more???

Our stay was extremely disappointing from beginning to end. We booked this hotel through Expedia and specifically paid for parking as part of our reservation. When it was time to check out, the staff attempted to charge us for parking again. After explaining that parking had already been paid for, they still made the process unnecessarily difficult. The hotel also advertised itself as pet-friendly, yet at checkout we were told we had to pay additional pet fees that were never clearly disclosed during booking. One of the biggest frustrations was the valet service. The hotel advertises valet parking, but when we asked for our vehicle, the front desk employee simply told us to go get the car ourselves instead of having the valet retrieve it. That completely defeats the purpose of paying for valet parking. The hotel itself smelled musty and humid throughout our stay, making it feel poorly maintained. We were never informed about any amenities during check-in, yet we were charged amenity fees anyway. The customer service was by far the worst part of the experience. The staff were rude, unwelcoming, and seemed more interested in finding additional charges than helping guests. There was no effort to resolve our concerns or provide a positive experience. Overall, this stay felt like a series of hidden charges, poor communication, and terrible customer service. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an honest, welcoming, or enjoyable place to stay.

This place was awful—one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The property is run down, poorly maintained, and feels completely neglected. The rooms were in terrible condition—dirty, worn out, and far below even the most basic standards. It’s shocking that they are still renting these rooms to guests. You would genuinely be better off staying at a cheap roadside motel. I was told they never fully rehired staff after the pandemic, and it shows everywhere. There’s a clear lack of upkeep and attention to detail. What made it worse was management’s attitude. I spoke with the manager about the condition, and he simply didn’t care. Other guests I talked to were just as frustrated and disappointed. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. This place is not worth your time or money.

The room was nice, good location. The only downside is our mini fridge not working, we asked if someone could take a look at it or replace it, was told someone would be with us before 6 pm, its now passed 6pm and no one bothered. It'd be nice to be able to keep drinks cold, but I guess thats not of importance.
