I grew up loving haunted houses—and I still do. I’m a very jumpy person, meaning I love being scared (especially by good jump scares), and Abandoned never disappoints. Every year they seem to outdo themselves—the sets are incredible, the actors are fully committed, and the makeup and effects just get better and better. I can always count on seeing new rooms or sets each season, which keeps things exciting. The length of all three haunted attractions makes it 100% worth the price, even though it’s on the higher side. You easily spend an hour and a half (or more on busy nights) between all the attractions, and it’s so worth it. I also love that they have The Uprising at 6:30—it’s become a fun tradition for my family to get there early to see it every year. I’ve also gone quite a few times during Blackout Weekend, and I absolutely love that they offer that extra weekend after Halloween for those of us who want to squeeze in just a few more end-of-season scares. It’s such a fun and unique way to wrap up spooky season! The only downside lately is how busy it’s gotten—which is great for them but can sometimes impact the scare experience. This year in Stalker, the group behind us caught up, and we ran into the group ahead, which made it harder to get those big scares. That said, in Ambush and Hysteria, my group of three went through mostly on our own, and I caught all the scares leading the way—which I loved! Overall, Abandoned Haunted House Complex continues to be one of the best haunted attractions in Wisconsin. I’ll keep coming back every year because they truly put their heart into it. I can’t wait to see how they continue to grow and expand in the future! 👻🎃 Included a few pictures from over the years!
